Disappointing. Lid design is flawed!
The lid design for this kettle is fundamentally flawed. A push down button on the lid releases the internal catch that allows the lid to open - however the lid doesn’t open because you are necessarily pushing down on it at the time! If you stop pushing down on the lid down in order to allow it to open, the button releases and therefore the catch re-engages and the lid still stays closed and locked in place! It is such an infuriating flaw - and really disappointing from a brand which I usually associate with clever design. (You’ll find other reviews online which mention the lid ‘sticking’, and this is the issue they are referring to.)
It is possible to get the lid to open sometimes by deftly tapping the button quickly, or by pushing the button with one finger and then applying pressure to the other side of the lid with another finger and sort of ‘manually’ opening it. But this really isn’t acceptable - especially at this price. Please fix this design. So frustrating!
